Ah, the park. A place to go and let your imagination go wild as you climb on clumps of metal and plastic. I never thought I would see so much drama at a place that is always seem to be a safe place for little ones to play.
So today my mom had the bright idea of taking my brother to the park and teach him to ride without training wheels. Now my brother is like nine and still doesn't know how to ride a bike without training wheels. That's because both me and my brother are scaredy cats and I mean when you're young the thought of falling onto pavement seems pretty scary.
I tagged along on this outing. My cousin came along as well; she's a year younger and a lot tougher than my brother. She brought her bike as well.
Once at the park I headed for the swings– which turned out to be a perfect spot for the upcoming show. I sat alone in the area and stared off into the distance. I saw a group of about six kids– five boys and one girl. Then closer to me was a lady with a little boy. The little boy had a big wheel type bike and was just circle the "monkey bar" part of the park. You know, the part where the slide and such is. There’s a paved path that goes all the way around it.
The group of kids all had bikes as well. They started riding around as well and soon started talking to the kids. There was one kid in a white helmet, he was the leader. The first words out of his mouth to the little kid, Tanner, were "Wanna race?"
Now this kid had to be eleven; later on me and my mom were trying to guess their ages. And Tanner looked to be about three or four. So, they raced and Tanner lost repeatedly. Tanner was obviously frustrated that he was losing, but I mean when you’re racing a little kid you let him win, but the kid was acting cocky about it and so were his friends.
As the afternoon went on this continued. They would challenge him to race or they would go on the slide part of the park and ride there bikes on it and tell him to go backwards down the ramp. They were just acting like complete dicks. I just wanted to go over and yell at them.
Then the little kids started talking to my cousin who started to ride around with them.
"Hey aren’t you Nick’s sister?"
"Yeah." (my cousin speaking, i wanted to use pink but there is none)My cousin then continued riding around, the group of boys were stopped.
Once she was gone the one boy said, "That’s Nick’s sister, you know the orange car. Yeah, nick; we hate Nick." I’m like wth?
The older ones continued to torment Tanner. Then another lady came and she had what looked like a twin boy and girl. The little kids tried to play on the jungle gym(aha forgot that it was called that =P) but the older kids blocked the slide. The mother soon yelled at them and got into a war of the words with them. She kept yelling random comments at them and such.
Soon after that we left. That all took place in an hour and a half. Like, I never thought the park could be so damn dramatic. I was like "I so have to write about this in my blog!" Lol. But why do kids have to be such assholes? And the mouths they had, the leader kid swore every other word! It's like Dude your in, what, grade two? Come on, go clean your mouth out with soap., you little dick It was like wow. I was so mad, I was waiting for them to say something to John, just so I could go and knock his lights out. Well, that’s it. Thought I’d share my store of bullying with you.
